How will past skills or experiences be valuable to your work at MEC?

My background in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, appliances, and general handyman services allows me to be a valuable team player. I spent seven years in construction, a year learning professional painting techniques, and 14 years of hands-on maintenance work. These experiences have given me a well-rounded skill set that I’m excited to bring to MEC.

Can you talk about a time that you have felt especially appreciated by a client?

One time, I went the extra mile for a client whose air conditioning had stopped working during a 100-degree heat wave. Rather than waiting for an HVAC technician to arrive the next day, I came out at 1:00 a.m. and repaired the condenser myself. I replaced the contactor and capacitor and adjusted the Freon levels to ensure the system was operating properly. The resident was incredibly grateful for the work — and that her children and infant didn't have to spend the night in a 90-degree unit.
